PROJECT WORK


Project American Dream, based on All My Sons, by Arthur Miller
Bridging Text and Context
Research Question:
American Dream is one of the main themes in All My Sons. What is its historical, social and moral context? To what extent reaching one's goals can be justified by all means? Moral and social values versus personal, how is the theme reflected in the play? In what way the choice of the theme was influenced by the personality of the playwright?
Procedure:
1. Write a cover letter.
2. Use 3 different sources at least (Internet; encyclopedia; mass media; literature; movies) to search for relevant information on the topic (articles; pictures; videos; etc.).
3. Sort out and sift the information.
4. Summarize it. Keep a file.
5. Write a draft. Use the checklist.
6. Write the final paper.
7. Write a feedback.
Explain how the research you have done adds to your understanding of the play.
Length of the Task: 750-1000 words.
